Although a new member of the Pye & Richards Team, Scott has had significant experience in the design and construction of a wide range of project types, both in Ontario and in Germany. As a LEED® AP accredited professional, Scott also has extensive experience in the design and construction of various sustainable facilities both here and in Europe. For projects offered by the City of Ottawa, Scott's role in the firm will be as Senior Architect, assisting the Project Architect. Scott will create detailed drawings for each project he is assigned, and will be involved early in the project to ensure that the design concept is maintained and enhanced during the development of CAD generated construction documents for which he will be responsible. Scott will aid in the clarification of construction documents, review shop drawings, and update contract documents to reflect as-built conditions. Scott will be available to the Client's representative at all times.
The followings are examples of some of the projects which Scott has acted as Assistant or Project Architect.
This project consists of the first phase of a four building residence complex for the new Canadian International Hockey Academy in Rockland, Ontario. The 20,182 sf. first building will consist of accommodations for 80 beds and space for a student dining room, multi purpose space, kitchen and servery, and lounge. The two-storey high building will form one side of an exterior commons area that will be part of the overall masterplan for the development, which includes a new arena complex. The residence is scheduled for completion in 2011.
This 12,380 sf. Tenant Fit-up for an automotive repair company is located in East of Ottawa. The Fit-up consisted of the refurbishment of a two- storey high manufacturing hall with open office and repair garage components. The office areas feature meeting rooms, training facilities, and a kitchen/lounge area. The garage has space for the repair of four automobiles, storage areas, and customer meeting rooms. The project was completed in the Spring of 2010, under a tight timeline.
This Design Study for a new 9,690 sf. large retail space replaces a single- storey group of stores which were damaged by fire in 2009. The proposal provides space for up to four individual retail units and defines a new image for the rest of the existing Plaza which will be modernized in the coming years. Using large amounts of vertical brick banding, the design provides a pedestrian scale to the wide variety of existing shops located on the Plaza.
