Pye & Richards Architects Inc. has recently been involved in numerous projects at Algonquin College. Projects undertaken in the last year include: renovations to replace classrooms with office space in 'C' and 'N' Building; renovating a classroom to a computer lab and server room in 'T' Building; exterior addition to 'D' Building (cafeteria) for storage of tables and chairs. The fit-up of a Food Preparation Classroom in 'H' Building included kitchen exhaust hoods and fresh air make-up units on the roof, safety flooring, full kitchen equipment fit-up, and mechanical shaft and roofing modifications to suit. Classroom additions in "A", "C", "J", and "T" Buildings were undertaken to adjust classroom sizes to suit the new school curriculum. Washroom renovations involving the complete demolition of men's and women's washrooms and janitor room were carried out to provide new, fully accessible facilities. These projects were carried out during the academic year and/or summer and required careful planning to minimize disruption to classes. Most of these projects in were undertaken in liaison with a Project Manager and the College in order to provide the required space within a reasonable budget and timely manner.

The concrete framed, precast and glass clad buildings have a total gross area of approximately 412,000 sf. The buildings are substantially leased, and the Firm has provided fit-up services to a high percentage of its tenants which include the corporate offices of Kanata Research Park Corporation, numerous high tech and telecommunications companies, legal and financial offices, including a major bank branch, medical and dental suites, retail outlets, food services and a full service restaurant. A fitness centre is located in Tower C. The Centre is also connected to the recently opened Brook Street Hotel.
